Meerkatsu Art: White Tiger Rashguard

These Chinese White Tiger rashguards were designed by me on commission from Swedish fightwear company Kenka. As part of my deal with Kenka, I have been allocated a small batch of them for sale on my store - www.meerkatsu.com. They will go live 10th October 2013 at 9am.

Here are more photos and a little background about the concept:

The White Tiger is one of four mythological beasts in the ancient Chinese and Japanese zodiac. The tiger represents the Autumn season and signifies the West. Read more here. The concept for the rashguard was Kenka's idea and I leapt at the chance as I have been longing to draw a really Chinese/Japanese tattoo style tiger for ages. The good news is Kenka want me to complete the series for the other three animals!

I'm pretty pleased with how the rashguard fabric turned out. It's quite a thin material that reminds me a lot of the first honey badger rashguard I did. The material is quite shiny and silky smooth. The dye sub printing came out really nice with all of the tiny details I added included.

For some reason, the reprised tiger on the sleeve doesn't have pupils in his eyes. Oops that's probably my fault.

My big thanks to team mates Sophie and Daniel who were kind enough to model these rashguards.

You can read more on how I put this design together over on my Art blog.
